Big Zistle trade, part one

I've made a half dozen trades on Zistle since getting back into collecting but this trade, with Zistle user Latent Moths, is by far the biggest. Going out the door were a big pile of Bruins, including a Tuukka Rask jersey card and several banner-card inserts from 2012-13 Panini Classics Signatures. But somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 cards came back my way, and I'm pretty pumped about the lot.

I initiated this trade and this was the card that started it. It was the last one I needed to complete the World Junior Champions subset in 1990-91 Upper Deck, which is probably my favorite team set of all time.

That said, this turned out to be my favorite card of the package. This great bench shot of Yzerman (sitting next to Brett Hull) was taken during the Red Wings Stanley Cup-winning season in 2001-02, and the card is from Upper Deck's flagship set the following year. Safe to say that if I had ever seen this card before, I would have bought it on the spot.

Plus three more additions to the Yzerman collection, which I believe now stands at 170 cards.

And two Ron Hextall cards, including a base Donruss Tough Times card to go along with the auto parallel I already had.

One of the many little things I'm working on is pulling together the Tampa Bay Lightning team set from 1992-93 Upper Deck, which was the team's first year in the league. As it happened, the Lightning had two players with Young Guns cards that year.

One more for the Guelph Collection.

Probably because I liked the 1991 team set so much, I've always liked to collect other Canadian World Junior team cards, too. These three are from the 1994 team set, which was part of 1993-94 Upper Deck. I think I'm up to six from that particular team set now.

Finally, the package included 10 cards from 1992-93 Fleer Ultra, another set I absolutely loved as a kid. I'd really like to hand-collate a set from both this and 1993-94 Ultra some day, although I have a long way to go. These 10 nearly doubled my entire collection so far, which currently stands at 25 cards.

I'm going to stop here for now. The rest of the trade package consisted of 49 cards from a single set, which I'll show off in a separate post.
